If you are in Chicago, you may have heard of Eagle Auto insurance. This company has been around since 1961 offering low rates and affordable payments whilst providing excellent coverage over the years. One of the most distinct and recognizable facets of Eagle Auto insurance may be the Eagle-Man, the mascot for the company.
The first and most memorable appearance of the Eagle-Man was in 1993 where two women were in their car driving around until suddenly a loud thud could be heard coming from the roof of the vehicle, the two women then step out to see Eagle-Man who says “ I’ve…Got…Something…For…You…” and subsequently lays an egg that hatches. The chick then hands the ladies a list of Eagle’s insurance rates after which the ladies swoon at the low rates offered. This first commercial and others following it gained a sort of cult following in Chicago which lead to many :sequels” they have been dubbed in Spanish and some spots have even featured some guests stars famous to the Chicago area. In 2002 the commercials were awarded “Fool of The Year” and have been cited in several shows across America.
Ridiculous as Eagle-Man may seem, he was only a vessel for Eagle Auto insurance in order for them to spread the word about their low rates.
Whatever you may think of Eagle-Man he certainly has been effective in spreading the word, not about the bird, but about the company.
